Large red sandstone mansion on Jefferson Avenue in Grosse Pointe with early English Renaissance-banks of large mullioned windows that took advantage of commanding view across Lake St. Clair, as did classical porch with Tuscan columns and balustrade. Edsel B. Ford House built by Albert Kahn in 1927. Research of quaint Cotswold houses of Worcestershire resulted in duplication of original building with additions built through the years and centuries to give characteristic rambling appearance. Faced with Briar Hill sandstone and roof stones imported from England along with workmen to properly place them. Interior includes imported weathered oak, huge fireplaces, paneling etc… hundreds of years old.
