Steere, Lloyd Randall

Band (1st Bb Cornet) 1897; Steere was born in Stanton, MI. Graduated from Harvard University in 1901, and from Harvard Law School in 1903. He practiced law in Chicago, was trust officer of the Central Trust Co., and vice president and chief executive officer of the Miami Corp. He served as Treasurer of the University of Chicago. He retired in 1947 after 20 years with the University. When he retired, he was made an honary member of the University Club of Chicago, an honor previously given to only four other persons. He died at the age of 80 in his home in Dune Acres, Chesterton, IN. Mr. Steere had been a town trustee and civic leader of Dune Acres for 35 years, and had lived there since his retirment.
