Record 55/121 Catalog Record Schools Exhibit Page Home Search Description  The Scotch School was originally erected, circa 1888, between Orchard and Green lakes, several feet south of Commerce Road on Old Orchard Trail. This one-room, frame building was replaced in 1926 with a brick building on the school's present site at 2810 Commerce Road, Union Lake. Scotch Elementary School is the oldest in the West Bloomfield School District and underwent expansion and/or renovation projects in 1942, 1949, 1953, 1965, and 1970. Additionally, in the 1960s, an adjoining five acres of land-including a pond-was purchased by the district to be used for educational purposes.
